Can I travel overseas?

Yes, vehicles may be taken outside of mainland Britain (ie. England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) with prior written permission. Special rate and insurance cover provisions may apply. Please ask for details.

 

What is the cost per mile?

Vehicles hired on a daily basis include 100 free miles. Mileage in excess of this will be charged at a rate of 6p per mile (plus VAT) for cars, 10p per mile (plus VAT) for commercial vehicles. The 7.5 tonne Iveco Eurocargo with tail-lift includes 93 miles per day and 12p (plus VAT) per mile thereafter.

 

What are the driver age requirements?

Drivers must be aged between 21 and 70 years for car hire, 25 and 70 for commercial vehicles over a certain weight (please contact us for more details). You must have held a full driving licence for at least two years. Please ensure that your licence is valid and entitles you to drive the class of the vehicle being rented.  

 

What documents do I need? 

Two forms of ID dated in the past three months and a credit or debit card to pay. All drivers must bring their full valid driving licence/photo card licence. You will also need to bring your National Insurance Number.

 

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, we will hold a £500 security deposit but this doesn't get taken from your account. 

 

How can I pay? 

You can pay with either a debit or credit card. 

 

What times do you operate between?  

Our opening times are as follows: 

Monday to Friday: 8:00 - 17:30

Saturday: 8:00 - 12:00

Sunday: Closed

 

What happens if I commit a traffic offence, speeding, travelling in a bus lane, parking infringements, dart charges etc?  

All penalty charge notices are the responsibility of the hirer. Dart charges are also available from our Jet garage. 

 

Am I allowed to smoke in the vehicles and/or carry pets?   

Sorry but the answer is no, we do not allow pets in the cars or people to smoke. 

 

Am I insured for towing a trailer and any goods that it may be carrying? 

The answer is no, we have no insurance to cover either or both the trailer or goods. 

 

How do I find your office? 

 

 

Can I leave my vehicle with you for the duration of the hire?  

Yes you can, we would prefer you not to, but by arrangement we will accommodate this.

 

What about fuel? 

 All vehicles come with a full tank of fuel and you are responsible for returning the vehicle with the same amount.
