Tachographs

Hammond Iveco offers tachograph calibration, servicing and new and used vehicle tachograph installations. Our tachograph facility is able to provide expertise on both analogue and digital tachographs.

Below is a matrix of the most common vehicles. Other makes and models can be quoted for upon request.

Under EU rules, the government strictly controls the hours that drivers can be on duty. It is a legal requirement for any commercial vehicle, which is 3.5 tonnes and upwards, to have a tachograph fitted. If you have a vehicle and trailer combination that has a gross vehicle weight over 3500kgs, carrying goods* for hire and reward, and travelling outside of a 100km radius of base, then a tachograph is required.

These are not “plug and play” and specialist installation is essential. Secondary speed signals are required and the unit must be calibrated on a rolling road to ensure that they are recording accurately.
